Sex Offenders

Offenders that are required to register with Benton County shall call the Sheriff's Office at (319) 472-2337, option 2 to schedule an appointment. Registration will be conducted on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Registration Requirements

Offenders must register with Benton County Sheriff's Office and provide all information as specified by Iowa Code Chapter 692A within five (5) business days.

Implementation of the 2,000 foot rule is in effect. You can use the Sex Offender Registry Map to determine if an address is in compliance. If an address is within the purple zone, it is in violation of the 2,000 foot rule. You can also enter an address, in the "Find Address" field located near the top left of the map, to determine if it is in compliance or not.

If you are aware of an offender who has not registered or not living at the registered address contact the Benton County Sheriff's Office at (319) 472-2337. Do not take action on your own.
